Worked as a key member of the development team for Lexia Learning’s Lexia Reading Core5 product, including doing much of the research and development involved with the iOS port to iPad. Developed in Flash Builder, Lexia Reading Core5 supports the web platform as well as Apple iPad, and is the “only research-validated literacy program available on the iPad.” Students are automatically placed at the appropriate level and work independently—via iPad, browser or desktop client—to develop their foundational reading skills. Spanning 2 years of development, I worked closely with the content and art teams to produce and code many of the game activities in the software, each focused on helping students learn a core reading skill.
