Harvard Museum of Natural History Arthropods on Microsoft Surface

description
Worked with the Harvard Scientists’ Discovery Room, the Harvard Initiative in Innovative Computing, the Harvard Museum of Natural History, and the Encyclopedia of Life, to explore new ways to interact with information via the Microsoft Surface table. The overarching project is research-focused, however the concrete piece that emerged was an interactive exhibit for the HMNH that showcased the INVOLV project as well as an arthropod image manipulation application programmed in Adobe AIR. The Adobe AIR application used gestures received from a Java layer via socket communication to manage the onscreen interaction.
