Perot Museum Dancing Dinosaurs

Developed with Richard Lewis Media Group for the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, users were invited to “show off your dance moves as a raptor avatar and discover how paleontologist use footprints to study dinosaur movement.” Dual Kinect sensors mounted on the wall detected the users movement and replicated that motion onto three 3D raptors projected on a large wall screen. Watch local news coverage of the exhibit in action.

The Kinects communicated separately to a server computer that allows all the motion data to stay in sync and cover a large dance floor area in the exhibit space.
